Alrighty, something really simple and straightforward this time around in the form of Nickelback's song "Rockstar."
Yes the song is a bit cheesy and yes it's rather easy to play, but the key for me is that it's just FUN to play and a fun song to listen to.

Bonus Video Time!
I've rerecorded Love Song for the Harmony Central Virtual Open Mic (VOM) #8 project. This rendition is based more closely off of Tesla's Five Man Acoustical Jam version. To try to better adhere to the spirit of VOM1T, The rhythm audio was recorded in 1 take (mistakes and all) with the solo overdubbed afterward. The audio was then synced to the video. As such, the audio syncing probably isn't perfect.

Don’t Go My Way – Toadies Cover

Back in the mid 90s, I discovered the Toadies. Their debut album, Rubberneck, was awesome. Then they disappeared. They released a 2nd album several years later which I never heard. Then they disappeared. Last month, they released their 3rd album, No Deliverance and I think it's quite good.
Don't Go My Way is the 8th track from the album. This is my rendition of the song. I recorded the rhythm then over dubbed a few solos over it.
As usual, it's not perfect but I enjoyed making it. Hope you enjoy listening to it! |
